A quick announcement

Two sevenday ago ...

A little girl of maybe seven turns skipped upon the Southern Beach shore near Redcliffs Hold. She hummed a happy tune as she paused to pick up a light green/pink shell up. She rubbed the shell carelessly on her dress that bore the numerous marks of such treatment. She held the shell up and smiled at the shine and color of the shell. The girl gathered up the ends of her dress and dropped the shell in her impromptu bag and continued skipping down the shore.

It would be many candlemarks later that she spotted a bunch of 'shells' in one spot. They turned out to be eggs, fire lizards eggs, to be exact. For a long moment she debated on the shell pieces in the folds of her dress and the eggs. In the end she dropped the shells and carefully gathered all the eggs from the clutch. Sadly, it was not meant for the little girl of seven to keep. Upon seeing the eggs her father marched out to the nearest dragonrider and dumped the eggs on his desk. Saying it was a 'dragon problem' not his and he would not take responsibility for them.

Present Time ...

The eggs had made their way to Luna after a sevenday of traveling. Surprisingly, no eggs had been damaged. Having no need for an entire clutch Luna decided to give some away.

Announcement is as follows:

A clutch of fire lizard eggs have been found. They are due to hatch within a sevenday. They are available to anyone not currently a Weyrling. Please direct any questions you have to Luna.

Luna backed away from the posting and sighed. It was short, but she wasn't used to this type of thing. With a shrug she left it.

(( Feel free to speculate on the number of flitts, colors, and such. For each right guess you get 1 mark.
So you can either just post it as this:

An example would be.
My guess: 10 Flitts

And if the real clutch was 10 flitts and was 5 Golds, 3 greens, and 2 bronze I would have 2 marks to add to my tally. ))

Yimian read the notice. She considered, and decided on an impulse to go speak with Luna. The day's work was largely undemanding; she could take a few minutes to put in a hopeful bid for one of the eggs.
Now, where to find the (always extremely) busy Weyrwoman...

Ah, he had seen a few at Benden. They weren't as common, but S'las knew of them. And perhaps a little friend for Tugenth wouldn't be so bad. Perhaps the lizard could be his other eye, and might calm his dragon down!

With a smile, he made a mental note to attend the flitter hatching.

I'll give you another week to guess (from today) and then the eggs will be ready to crack open. At any time you can change your guesses. The official cut off for this is when I post the flitt's cracking in the Hatching Sands.

Please PM me if you have any special requests. I.E. You would like two, you want your character to be there, but not get one. Maybe you don't want a clutcher. (This would also apply to anyone with a Weyrling that wants one) I won't bite you no matter what you request so don't be shy. At the worst I use my dice roller and let it decide your fate. I mean >.> I carefully weigh the pro's and con's of the situation and handle the matter responsibly.

Any character that appears in the Hatching thread will have a chance to get one so make sure to be around!

A'ver whistled as he strode through the Lower Cavers, before pausing as something caught his eye. "An announcement? Wonder what for..." He mused, lifting a hand to idly caress the blue flit on his shoulder. "A hatching of flits! That'll be fun. Can't wait to see some people juggling 'lizards." The green weyrling remarked with a snicker as Kriss rubbed his head against his owner's cheek affectionately. "No weyrlings allowed...but I can still bet." A quick glance about showed a piece of charcoal, which nimble fingers scooped up to write down. He didn't care who saw. He was guessing there'd be a whole wall of bets before this was over. "Hmmm....nine eggs, a gold, a bronze....a brown, two blue....three green, and a mutant." He mused over the writing as he stood back, grinning broadly. "Maybe it'll end up like Raineth's last clutch." The weyrling was chuckling as he wandered off to do who knows what.

Alrighty, so I'm in a bad mood today so I'm cutting this betting short. I want to post about something happy so maybe I feel better. v.v; Please forgive me. If Wangri or Obiwan throw in a quick PM to me before I disclose the details they can still enter (and anyone else who I've forgotten or joins)
