AIVAS' plan failed, delaying Thread by one hundred years, but not obliterating it. The AI has also discovered a strange cylindrical object heading straight for the other side of Pern...Valkyrie Weyr. What is it that heads for Pern? Why does it head for Valkyrie? And is there something, or someone inside it?
A brief history;
Founded by Grien of the Obsidian, Felith, the citizens of Valkyrie hold and Weyr have lead a pretty uneventful life. Save for the mutations, which seem to all have died out, Valkyrie has suffered none of the problems the other Weyrs have suffered. Many from the Northern Continent envy the newest Weyr, as well as the Southern Weyr. The Northern Continent has become reclusive, contacting the other Weyrs less and less.
