Person[/b]
Name: S'las
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Rank: Bronzerider
Family:
S'sen - Father - Wingleader at Benden Weyr
Calassana - Mother - Greenrider in S'sen's Wing
Judia - Half-sister - Shares same father, journeyman Healer
Forya - Niece - Daughter of Judia
Appearance:
Dark brown hair frames an angular face with a firm nose. His eyes are dark and often unfocused with the impression of deep thought. He is not clean-shaven, but lacks any full facial hair.
Nicholas Bemberg, made by triggerhappygirl of rcr
Personality:
S'las is a man of few words. It's not shyness or unkindness that keeps him quiet; it's a belief that anything said should be something worth saying. He might enjoy a chat with a fellow rider from time to time, but he hates small talk and prefers to ask relevant questions.
As a leader, he is strong and confident, though rash moves are rarely--if ever--seen on his part. He thinks things through and is often slow to react because he prefers to take the time to analyze all his options and weigh the outcome versus the risk. While handy, this leads to disasters when a quick response is needed.
He keeps his emotions to himself, and can even be seen as callous or cruel because he does not display affection or joy. A soft smile and maybe a snort from the nose is all that can be gotten from him.
History:
Born at Benden Weyr, Sorlasan was the beta of a pack of weyrbrats. As a child, he was loud and rowdy, but not so much as the other kids. He was also fascinated by learning, and loved the history lessons the Weyrsinger gave them.
At the age of twelve, Sorlasan Stood in his first Hatching, and was mauled by a green. It took two years for his wounds to heal to the Candidate Master's satisfaction, and at fourteen, he was allowed to Stand again. This time, Tugenth looked his way--
--and fell over on his eye, knocked by a raving brown whose Rider had just gotten mauled. The wound damaged the sight in Tugenth's left eye, and the sensation as well as the injury have never really left Tugenth.
Weyrling training was difficult, as a half-blind bronze was not expected to survive. But Tugenth and S'las pulled through, due to excellent teamwork and sheer determination. The fact that Tugenth was longer than the other bronzes in his clutch helped as well.
However, the crowded Benden weyr was not to S'las's liking--too many people, too many elbows in the ribs--and when Luna spoke of leaving, S'las volunteered without convincing. He was packed before the night was out, and excited to be headed off on a grand adventure.
Yet a bit of homesickness remains. S'las, being weyrbred, never lived away from Benden. He misses his family; he misses the old ways of the Weyr. However, the opportunity to set up a Weyr for new dragons to live in, to record his name in history--that keeps him going.
All for Surion Weyr, as he would say.
Dragon
Name: Tugenth
Color: Bronze
Age: 16 Turns
Appearance:
Tugenth is a dark bronze, build long and lean. His frame appears almost fragile, betraying the true power in his muscles and wings. One of his eyes does not swirl correctly--it's couldy and caught in a permanent Rainbow-color of Impression, due to the fact that his vision is impaired in that eye due to an accident while Hatching.
Personality:
Tugenth is silent, like his Rider, though he is vigilant. His blindness in one eye has sparked a bit of paranoia, and he fears being ambushed by vicious whers or small children. Unlike other bronzes, Tugenth does not frown upon the other colors, and prefers the company of a green or brown to another bronze. He's under the impression that everyone at the Weyr is laughing at him, and these frustrations are often relayed to his Rider.
