Person[/b]
Name: Shmee
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Sexuality: Hetero
Rank: Candidate
Family:
Father Shan
Mother Aleeya
Brothers Sh'leel, A'yan, Sh'nee
Daughter Shei
Appearance: Many consider Shmee to be beautiful, even though she doesn't dote on her appearance as much as she once did. Her long, slender body is fair, and, save for stretch marks, absent of blemishes that make most girls self-conscious. As a result, Shmee isn't very self-conscious about her looks, and doesn't understand the mentality of the people who are. Her body is only slightly tall, a little taller than the average woman. Her body is built well, though she is not bulky. Her hips are even, if not large enough to be considered ideal, but she likes them more. It's less to carry around, after all! Her breasts, too, aren't very large, but after having a babe, she considers that more of a blessing. Her long limbs are tipped by even more slender appendages, perhaps giving the illusion of frailty to her being. However, the callouses on them are proof that though she is small-looking, she does give in her fair share of work, so is not weak by a long shot. Littered about her body are some burn scars that might make her look less than perfect, but she pays no attention to them unless someone brings them up.
Her oval shaped face is slightly angular at her chin, but the point is rounded delicately, making it seem childlike rather than severe. This face is framed with short black hair that hangs just below her ears, shorn very carefully so as to not look too messy. It does, however, give off a relaxed vibe, and she doesn't always do her best to smooth out the tangles that are bound to live in her hair. Nevertheless, it always maintains a sleek look to it, a kind of natural shine. The jet-black hair matches her smooth, even eyebrows that crown her round eyes, perhaps the most prominent feature of her face. They are a bright, very vivid blue that always manage to lock with others. These are eyes that are hard to pull away from, but once again, aren't made for intimidation. They are bright with playfulness and friendliness, and warm with laughter. Her ears are a bit longer than one would call perfect, but they are carefully hidden beneath her black locks. Her small, pert mouth and nose, too, are not gracious enough to be considered perfect, but they still capture her mischievousness quite well.
Personality: Once a wild, egotistical, charismatic girl, the past few turns have changed her, probably for the better. She still maintains her level of charm, managing to still get what she needs to, but she no longer abuses that power. She knows that life isn't her playground now, so she is extremely cautious when moving things to what she thinks is better. However, she is still extremely emotional when things don't go her way, a remnant of her old self that lingers, as well as one of the things people don't like about her. If she has her heart set on something, she is determined to do it, and if it doesn't work, it will end in tears.
Self-blame is something Shmee struggles with. When she her lover left her, she blamed herself, and still finds herself very responsible even today. Yet this drives her to make sure the same mistakes aren't repeated. She will become perhaps over-cautious when trying to keep things peaceful. If something does go wrong, she'll bitterly blame herself to a point that will probably make her cry. She is highly sensitive, and hates people challenging her, which she sometimes feels like are attacks at her if they don't agree with something she says. However, she hates mistakes, and if these mistakes prove to be grave, she'll blame herself. Unfortunately, her desperate need for peace makes it so that she is sometimes blind to new things. If there's a plan that could work, but also risks the lives of people, she would have nothing to do with it, no questions asked. This can be frustrating for people who do want to do so, and lead many others to think that Shmee is close-minded. In a way, she is, but she does it out of caring for others.
Shmee is a loving creature, who only dislikes those who make an earnest attempt to hurt her (either physically or emotionally) or seem to dislike her first. If it looks like someone needs a person to talk to and they come within Shmee's line of sight, they should expect to see Shmee bound along anxiously, doing whatever she can to make the other feel better. She hates seeing people suffer, and she tries to help by talking to them, comforting them, or even just offering to be around. This caring is reflected in her own life. She wants so much to have a real family, and she will keep trying through whatever problems come up to keep her own alive and well. Her daughter is the most important thing to her, and is something she would never sacrifice willingly.
Shmee may be a difficult person to be around or get to know, but she means well. She can be incredibly caring toward a person, which is enough to hopefully get them to love her-- unless her dramatic flaws turn them away.
History: Shmee is the daughter of weyr-based crafters, both of whom were journeymen weavers. They had moved to Benden Weyr for their use of women appealed to them, for they wanted their family to grow up with the values that women were just as skilled as men (whereas in the hold, women were expected to marry and bear children for the rest of their lives). Immediately after moving to the Weyr, they had four children in quick succession: three boys and one girl. Because Shmee was the only girl in the family, she was quite doted upon and treasured by her mother, Aleeya. This led to the young girl growing into a spoiled rotten young woman.
Of course, being pretty certainly didn’t help matters in the slightest. She had the young boys of the Weyr on her tail at all times, and was more likely to be found in a closet kissing some new boy than doing chores like a responsible girl. Because her sole thoughts of the future consisted of figuring out who to use next, she gave no thought to what she wanted to become when she grew up. In fact, she decided that it was perfectly all right to marry a Lord Holder when she grew up. Her parents didn’t remark on this, oddly, despite how their whole point of living in the Weyr was to have their children being equal with each other. Whereas all three of her brothers had managed to Impress, she hadn’t even given the dragons a passing glance.
It all changed when she turned fifteen turns. She saw in the Weyr a red-headed bronzerider named K’dei. Though Shmee was never one who believed in love at first sight, she did just that for K’dei. The next two turns were spent trying to get K’dei to notice her. However, it wasn’t until she turned seventeen that he finally began to return her flirtations. Shmee was so eager that she even agreed to become his mistress—yes, she knew that he already had a weyrmate, but if he loved Shmee so much, it would only become a matter of time before he separated from her to be with Shmee.
Another year passed, and Shmee discovered that she was pregnant. Thrilled, she told him instantly—unfortunately, he was disgusted. He told Shmee that he was only using her because she was young and pretty, and wanted nothing else. Heartbroken, Shmee left, wallowing in self-blame and self-deprecation. How could she ever have thought that he loved her? Still, Shmee decided not to take a quick hop between. It wasn’t the child’s fault that it was brought into the world, and Shmee swore to raise it herself.
Many months later, she gave birth to a daughter, sporting her father’s red hair and her mother’s blue eyes. Shmee named her Shei, and for a year, lived alone and quietly with her.
It wasn’t until Shei began to grow that Shmee started to reconsider her future. It was far too late to pick up a craft. But as a clutch was laid on the sands at a distant Weyr in the Southern Continent, Shmee was tempted with the idea of being a dragonrider. She wouldn’t be forced into working menial labor for the rest of her life; she was still eligible to become a dragonrider! Not only that, but she could also run away from her shameful past at the same time! With that thought she signed herself up for candidacy, prepared to start her life afresh for the sake of her child.

Name: Shei
Gender: Female
Age: 1
Sexuality: N/A
Rank: Weybrat
Family:
Father K'dei (MIA)
Mother Shmee
Appearance: Though Shei has yet to grow, she succeeds at this point in time to be a cute babe. She has the pudgy cheeks, arms, and legs that are full of baby fat, but not too much. It might even be described as the perfect amount of baby fat. Above these chubby cheeks are vivid blue eyes, a perfect match to her mother's. Her hair, however, couldn't be more different than Shmee's. The little whisps of curls she has are a fiery red, the shade of her other, lesser known parent.
Personality: Shei is a very happy baby, always having a ready smile for company. She is very shy of new people, but if she knows people well, she loves to be with them. She, fortunately for her mother, is not very vocal, but nevertheless loves to be at the center of everyone's attention.
History: Shei has so far lived a happy life, being raised by her single mother, Shmee.
